Curricular Reforms in Great Britain

This bachelor thesis is focused on curricular reforms in Great Britain during 20th century. These reforms are compared with changes in education in the Czech Republic. The content itself brings a particular identification and description of British education in the period as well as an analogy to reforms carried out in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the issue of school leisure facilities operation in respect to the curricular reform is outlined in brief.
Strategy of Education in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the selected strategic documents of education in the European Union, in the Czech Republic and in the Liberec region. This thesis summarizes knowledge of the development in the European area, the development of legislation and the national attitude from the point of view of strategies of education. The conclusion is based on the previous attitudes mentioned above and compared with the National Programme of Education. Relevant opinions of politicians and experts influencing the further development of the education system in the Czech Republic are presented in the thesis as well. The conclusion of this thesis is the case study of requirements of the National Programme of Education. The theses defines the frame of the National Programme of Education in the Czech Republic and suggests the possible content and related executive structure.
Methods of teaching early reading and writing in primary schools in England

The aim of this diploma thesis is to present one of the aspekts of teaching of early reading and writing in primary schools in England. By this aspekt we mean methods that are used during teaching early reading and writing. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis familiarize the reader with the education system in England as whole, describes the National Curriculum and closely familiarize the reader with the pre-school curriculum and primary school curriculum. From both curriculums are pointed out especially those aspects which relate to teaching English language. In addition, there will be presented programs of teaching early reading and writing and closely described methods of teaching early reading and writing. The practical part of diploma thesis is based on research which was performed in community primary school "Dale Community Primary School". The research was conducted by several methods: questionnaire survey, observation and controlled observation. The questionnaires and observation aimed at finding methods of teaching early reading and writing which are used at the specific primary school. Comparison of systems of education in the Czech Republic and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland focused on education of foreign languages on secondary schools

The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of comparison of systems of education in the Czech Republic and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with focus on education of foreign languages at secondary schools. The systems of education of both countries are introduced and compared in terms of framework educational programme and National curriculum. The work with terminology is also pointed out by translation of technical terms into the Czech language. The practical part is focused on a lesson plan with the aim to present the differences of Czech and British system of education to the pupils of the ninth class. The thesis includes an insertion of the lesson plan to the Methodical portal RVP.CZ as a sample lesson of a cross- sectional theme of Multicultural education.
